Is $8,000 really all-in?
Yes, for a standard residential install: SoFar 20 kWh battery, 5 kW inverter, fitting and commissioning. The quote confirms the final figure before you commit. A switchboard upgrade or difficult access are the only things that change it.
Can it AC-couple to my existing solar?
Most of the time, yes. The SoFar AC-couples to existing PV between 3 kW and 13 kW — that covers most residential systems installed since 2018. We confirm compatibility on the quote call.
What's the warranty and who handles it?
10 years on the cells. Service Tech, our service arm, handles all fault-find and warranty admin in-house for the life of the warranty. You call us, not an overseas call centre.
Can I start with less than 20 kWh?
Yes. The SoFar is modular in 5 kWh increments. Start at 5, 10, or 15 kWh and add modules later up to 20 kWh, without swapping the inverter or re-cabling.
