Quick answers
Straight answers on the price, the install window, compatibility, and the warranty.
Is the $8,990 price really all-in?
For an eligible standard residential install, yes: the SOFAR Powerall 20 kWh battery, 5 kW hybrid inverter, fitting and commissioning — with the federal battery STC discount applied where you qualify. The quote call confirms anything site-specific (switchboard upgrade, asbestos, difficult access, long cable runs) and your final price is set in writing before you commit.
How does the free 25 kWh upgrade work?
Sign before 30 June 2026 — deposit received and cleared — and we fit an extra 5 kWh SOFAR module at install, about $3,000 of estimated extra-storage value at no extra charge, subject to site suitability and quote terms. It applies to every system, battery-only or solar + battery bundle.
How much is the federal battery rebate?
Around $5,189 on a 25 kWh system, or ~$6,708 in total rebates on the solar + battery bundle. It's applied as a point-of-sale STC discount, so it's already in our advertised price — no separate application, no waiting on a refund. The rate steps down again in January 2027.
What is the Solar Sharer Offer from 1 July 2026?
From 1 July 2026, eligible households in South East Queensland may be able to access the Solar Sharer Offer through participating retailers — about 3 hours of free electricity in the middle of the day. It is an optional retail tariff, not an overnight Energex battery incentive, and it needs a smart meter. For battery owners it can be a chance to run loads or top up in the free window, but eligibility, retailer terms and any usage cap apply. We can help assess whether it suits your home; we do not guarantee eligibility or savings.
What happens if the install takes longer than two weeks?
We credit you $200 for every week we're late, up to $1,000 — as an invoice reduction or direct transfer. The window is 10 business days from cleared deposit, and the schedule is locked the day you pay. Full conditions are set out in your written quote.
Can I AC-couple to my existing solar?
If your PV system is between 3 kW and 13 kW (most residential setups since 2018), yes. The quote call confirms compatibility.
What's the warranty?
10 years on the SOFAR Powerall equipment, plus a 5-year Service Tech warranty on the installation. Service Tech handles warranty claims and warranty-related fault diagnosis in-house for the life of the warranty. Non-warranty faults — third-party equipment, internet or app issues, network events, storm damage, misuse or customer-requested changes — may be chargeable. You call us, not an overseas hotline.
Why is your price lower than other quotes?
We've narrowed the product range to one anchor product (the SOFAR Powerall), locked in volume pricing, and run a tight install crew. Fewer SKUs, faster install, lower overhead. The savings go into the price, not the margin. At ~$474 per kWh installed, we're nearly half the cost per kWh of comparable Fox ESS or VoltX systems.
Can I upgrade to a Goodwe / premium system later?
Yes. Our parent brand Solar Uptime handles premium upgrades from the same install team. The Powerall itself transfers cleanly into a larger system if you expand.
Do you do off-grid?
Not under Energy Cost Saver. For off-grid or whole-house backup, talk to Solar Uptime.
Where do you install?
South East Queensland. The two-week install guarantee applies to standard metropolitan residential installations in SEQ — if you’re outside that area, ask on the quote call and we’ll confirm timing.
Is the SOFAR Powerall made in Australia?
No. SOFAR is a publicly listed global manufacturer — top 5 in hybrid inverters, 37 GW+ shipped across 100+ countries. We hold stock on-shore so install times stay tight.
What about Fox ESS or VoltX?
We can install those if you specifically ask. The Powerall is our recommendation — inverter included, CATL cells, 97.8% round-trip efficiency, and local in-house support. The full comparison is on the battery page.
